The 29th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony took place on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The 2014 Ceremony was open to the public, as it had been for the Induction Ceremonies in Cleveland (2009, 2012) and Los Angeles (2013). This was the first time that the event was held in New York. With performances by Peter Gabriel, Hall and Oates, KISS, Nirvana, Linda Ronstadt, and Cat Stevens.

Closure is the 12th official Nine Inch Nails release. It consists of music videos interspersed with snippets from educational films, as well as exclusive footage shot by Peter Christopherson including antics by Nine Inch Nails and their tour guests: Marilyn Manson, Jim Rose Circus and David Bowie. Originally scheduled to be released on DVD in 2004, the disc appeared on internet torrent sites in 2006, including behind-the-scenes footage of the "Closer" video with commentary by Mark Romanek. Fans speculate that Reznor may have been the source of this leak.

The live version of Jeff Wayne's 1978 bestselling album was brought to the stage in 2006 as part of a sell-out tour of the UK. Filmed at London's Wembley Arena, and using a blend of theatre, music and visual imagery, the production incorporates performers from the original recording, including Justin Hayward, Chris Thompson and Wayne himself.
