Overview
The naive 18 year old Dobrila leaves her little Serbian village to travel to Hamburg, Germany, where her boyfriend lives. The trip is not easy. Finally in Hamburg she has to realize her boyfriend is not very interested in a relationship. She doesn't tell him she's pregnant and starts on her way home to Serbia, which turns out to be even more exhausting.

Ilir Luma, a martial arts master specialized in the Pelasgian art of "Mundije", escaped the communist regime, when he was only 14 years old. He'd witnessed the hanging of a poet in the city of Kukes, Albania. In Germany, at a Taekwondo school, he meets Ana, who became his student and his girlfriend. Ilir promised to be there for her, whenever she needs him. Thirty years later, Ana is kidnapped and sent to Mexico. For years, the immigration officer Dr. Ludwig Sarheimer and the chairman of the Turkish community Cengiz Demirkan in Cologne have been fighting a small war. While the one, as a hodja, upholds the traditions of his homeland and brings Anatolian brides to Germany for Turks who are willing to marry, the other wants to prevent exactly that. Cengiz's daughter Lale Demirkan is at the center of these ongoing disputes. At home, the young woman plays the well-behaved Turkish daughter, but as soon as the German studies student leaves the house, she takes off her headscarf and sense of tradition and has fully arrived in German life. In her free time, she practises martial arts fighting techniques. So far, she has successfully fended off potential grooms.

After her husband's death in Germany, an attractive young widow leaves his native village in Herzegovina to work abroad. There she starts an affair with an Italian worker that proves to be unsuccessful, yet she gets pregnant. She does an abortion, which is followed by another blow - her godfather Luka steals her hard-earned money.

Based on the 1891 play "Spring Awakening," this filmed stage drama examines the tensions and confusion of young people as their growing sexual awareness conflicts with the repressive social environment around them. The passionate kiss between two males might be the first envisioned for the stage since Christopher Marlowe's between Edward II and Gaveston.
