Overview
A coming-of-age story, drama set in Harlem. A 15 year old named, Kae, is raised by her overprotective, single father who wants to be allowed to walk home by herself. But in order to get what she wants, her relationship with her father is tested, and she is forced to confront a former friend, whose jealousy comes to a breaking point.

In Harlem in 1987, Claireece "Precious" Jones is a 16-year-old African American girl born into a life no one would want. Chronicles the rise and fall of legendary blues singer Billie Holiday, beginning with her traumatic youth. The story depicts her early attempts at a singing career and her eventual rise to stardom, as well as her difficult relationship with Louis McKay, her boyfriend and manager. Casting a shadow over even Holiday's brightest moments is the vocalist's severe drug addiction, which threatens to end both her career and her life.
