Overview
Down Quixote is a feature film adapted from the classic Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes, written and directed by Leonardo Cortez, with a cast made up exclusively of actors with Down Syndrome. The actors are part of the ADID Theater Group which, in 2021, completes 23 years of existence, with 12 shows inspired by classics of world dramaturgy.

At The Kingdom, Denmark's most technologically advanced hospital, a number of strange and otherworldly events begin occurring, much to the dismay of its doctors and patients. Toby, a cynical film director finds himself trapped in the outrageous delusions of an old Spanish shoe-maker who believes himself to be Don Quixote. In the course of their comic and increasingly surreal adventures, Toby is forced to confront the tragic repercussions of a film he made in his idealistic youth.

Following the death of a hotelier in Punta del Este, Uruguay, an unexpected inheritance dispute begins. Stallone, an actor with Down syndrome, believes he is the rightful heir to the hotel. On the other side is Magrelo, a young autistic man who was raised as an adopted son by the deceased. Without waiting for the reading of the will, Stallone decides to reunite his old friends with Down syndrome from the institute where they lived in Brazil to spend a week's vacation at the hotel.

Jacqueline is a young mother living in 1960s Paris with her disabled son Laurent. Abandoned by her husband, Jacqueline sacrifices everything to care for her son and vows to give Laurent a “normal” life full of happiness. Antoine, is a successful DJ in present day Montreal who seems to have it all: a thriving career, two beautiful daughters, partner Rose, with whom he is passionately in love. However, nothing is perfect and Antoine’s ex-wife Carole remains devastated by their recent separation.
