Starring Mike Brayden, Yvette Angulo and directed by Ryan Casselman. Birthdays can be tough. Often a reminder that our lives are moving at rapid speed, and while you may have aged a year older over night, you realize that not a whole lot else has changed. That is certainly the case with Jeff, a greeting card creative who has the 'birthday blues' and struggles to find someone to share his birthday with.

In the beginning of the 19th century, Johannes Elias Alder is born in a small village in the Austrian mountains. While growing up he is considered strange by the other villagers and discovers his love of music, especially rebuilding and playing the organ at the village church. After experiencing an "acoustic wonder", his eye color changes and he can hear even the most subtle sounds.

In the midst of the war in Gaza, 5-year-old Hind Rajab and her family seek safety. To escape reality, they dance to loud music in the car. Their flight is abruptly stopped by an Israeli tank that opens fire without warning. Trapped in the car, surrounded by tanks, the girls try to hold on. They comfort each other and dream out loud about a future that seems increasingly distant. They keep in touch with the emergency services, who promise to rescue them as soon as the army gives permission. What began as a search for safety ends in a tragedy that exposes the core of the war.

This film is about what the routine of everyday life can do to the human mind and psyche. It also reflects on the importance of the choices we make and how limited these choices are in the first place. The plot evolves around a family of four. They live in the suburbs, in a strange villa that appears, through a complex game of mirrors, to be more like a piece of installation art than a real house. The main character, who hardly appears on screen, is the son, a man in his thirties. Suffering from asthma and eczema since childhood, he uses his condition to manipulate his parents and his sister. Thus the existence of the terrorized family turns into an endless ritual of attempting to satisfy his whims, and always on the alert for yet another one of his “health crises”. Las Meninas resembles the scattered pieces of a puzzle. It is up to the viewer to assemble them in order to form his very own picture – something that makes the film itself personal and unique.
