After killing a prison guard, convict Robert Stroud faces life imprisonment in solitary confinement. A daring prison break from an airliner at 30,000 feet leaves U.S. Marshal Pete Nessip mourning a brother and gunning for revenge. After being ordered to turn in his badge, he seeks out Jessie Crossman, a noted skydiver, and offers to sponsor her crew for the annual Independence Day parachuting show in Washington, D.C., if she trains him. Meanwhile, the mastermind behind the mid-air jailbreak is planning a daring computer theft on Independence Day.

After living abroad for several years, journalist John Royer returns to the United States just after the U.S. enters World War II. His boast that he could easily smuggle rubber, a key wartime natural resource, out of Malaya has him tasked with doing just that. He manages to get someone from his past, Carnaghan, sprung from Alactraz and together they head off to South East Asia posing as Irishmen. Once there, Carnaghan lines up some of his old cronies and with Royer and a few plantation owners plans to smuggle the rubber out from under the Japanese army's watchful eye.

Adriano is an honest prison guard who is averse to violence. He tries to keep the prison peaceful, even though he is struggling with major family problems. The arrival of Abdel, a dangerous international terrorist, increases the tension in the prison, which is already experiencing days of terror due to the fight between two criminal factions. Now, Adriano will have to face a rebellion and control Abdel's every move.
