Overview
After crossing the line and eating from the forbidden fruit, Gringa feels that she is being monitored by someone else. Soon she will encounter herself with the happiness, love, hate and violence that exists in the small utopic island she lives in, portraying a character she is not, and under the gaze of someone else.

In 17th-century Tuscany, a church play is performed for the benefit of young aristocrat Cosimo. In the play, a grotesque old woman gives birth to a beautiful baby boy. The child's older sister is quick to exploit the situation, selling blessings from the baby, and even claiming she's the true mother by virgin birth. However, when she attempts to seduce the bishop's son, the Church exacts a terrible revenge.

For her entire life, the cult she was born into has been all that teenage Selah has known. Along with a band of similarly cloistered young women she lives seemingly unstuck in time, cut off from modern society in a remote forest commune presided over by a man called Shepherd, a controlling, messiah-like figure with a frightening dark side. But when her insular world is rocked by a series of nightmarish visions and disturbing revelations, Selah begins to question everything about her existence—including her allegiance to the increasingly dangerous Shepherd.

An all-enveloping darkness. Suddenly, a child's voice, frightened, questioning, pierces the darkness... The first flickering rays of light begin to sculpt mysterious shapes out of the darkness... Among them, a very old man. He reassures the child, exhorting him to see the wonders of the earth. And it is with this child's eyes that we will witness the creation of the world.

Covering only the first 22 chapters of the Book of Genesis, vignettes include: Adam and Eve frolicking in the Garden of Eden until their indulgence in the forbidden fruit sees them driven out; Cain murdering his brother Abel; Noah building an ark to preserve the animals of the world from the coming flood; and Abraham making a covenant with God.

Christian girl Rachel Whitaker goes off to college for her freshman year and begins to be influenced by her popular biology professor Marcus Kaman, who teaches that evolution is the answer to the origins of life. When Rachel’s father senses something amiss with his daughter, he begins to examine the situation and what he discovers catches him completely off-guard. Now very concerned about Rachel drifting away from her Christian faith, he sets out to do something about it.
