Overview
This one old dude is married to Hatano Yui, a very beautiful wife, but he begins to have suspicions on her ability to remain faithful. So he hires a private investigator, who confirms Hatano is having fun on the side with a much younger man than her husband. Knowing that the wife is a horny cheater was not the hardest part, as the hubby has a strange way to cope with the issue.

The consul's self-destructive behaviour, perhaps a metaphor for a menaced civilization, is a source of perplexity and sadness to his nomadic, idealistic half-brother, Hugh, and his ex-wife, Yvonne, who has returned with hopes of healing Geoffrey and their broken marriage.
