French visual artist-director JR situates his latest social-art intervention in a Southern Californian supermax prison, where he has imagined an enormously ambitious collaboration with the facility’s inmates.

On Christmas Eve 2020, three strangers find themselves in a holding room. Soon, with the help of a guide each man encountered previously that year, they will embark on a crazy journey to reconcile their pasts. This will be a night they will never forget.

Jean Valjean is released from prison after nineteen years of hard labor, violence, and suffering.
