The wedding of Kornel, a young, well known TV scientist, to the famous singer, Alicja, is to be the social event of the year. In the suburban reception hall, the final preperations are being made. The waiter, Tytus, who is somewhat touchy having just found out he is to become a father, lays out the cutlery on the tables.

After a lot of trial and error, Hilde Reimer has finally decided to marry her late love Theo. Immediately after the wedding, Theo moves in with her in the Reimersche family villa - nothing seems to stand in the way of their mutual happiness. Or is it? While Theo soon gets to feel the idiosyncrasies of his new wife, Hilde quickly realizes that she can hardly keep up with the pace of the agile Theo in everyday life.

Middle-aged sisters Taina and Pirkko are famous for their Finnish farmhouse ale called “sahti”. The third sister, Päivi, is getting married, and she asks her sisters if they can make 100 liters of sahti for the wedding. Unfortunately, it’s too good not to drink it. The sisters wake up in a horrible hangover and realize they have drunk it all. They have 24 hours to find 100 liters of good sahti, or they will lose all the respect.

The Suburbans, a one-hit-wonder new wave band from the '80s, reunite at their bassist's wedding, where a promising young record executive sees the ensemble perform. When she encourages them to launch a revival, the group must weigh their dreams of fame and fortune against the reality of their relatively quiet domestic lives.
