Achim Bornhak's movie focuses on the restless life of Uschi Obermaier, the icon of the 1968 movement in Germany and groupie. At the age of 16, Uschi is bored by her job in a photo lab, but soon becomes the "it girl" of Munich's club scene. When she gets to know Rainer Langhans, they move to Berlin and live in "Kommune 1", the first politically-motivated commune in Germany. While the other occupants claim she isn't political enough, Uschi just wants to have fun, works as fashion model and leads international music stars in temptation.

The two twelve-year-old girls Charlotte Palfy and Louise Kröger meet on a language trip to Scotland and discover that they are twins who were separated shortly after birth. Charlotte, the daughter of a music hall composer, is cool, self-confident and cheeky, dresses accordingly and listens to techno music. Louise, who grew up with her mother, an advertising executive, wears more "old-fashioned" clothes, is shy and reserved, but conscientious and orderly. Determined to play fate, the two swap roles - at the end of the journey, Louise travels as Charlie to her father, who works as a composer in Berlin-Kreuzberg, while Charlie travels as Louise to her mother in Hamburg, where she works in an advertising agency. The girls realize that getting their parents back together is not as easy as they thought.

The batty sandwich seller and wannabe pimp Andy Ommsen finally gets his chance in the red light district. A reckless underworld-boss hires him to guard the beautiful go-go-dance Anica. Unfortunately, this collides with Andy's second job, which is to show the c-grade actor Timo how to behave as a real pimp.

23-year-old Elviz from Hamburg-Altona is in a tight spot: his uncle wants the 50,000 euros he once lent Elviz back — he promises to seize Elviz's mother's property on the Turkish Riviera otherwise. But Elviz knows how to make money quickly these days and founds the first Turkish-language telephone sex hotline, "Süperseks". It's going great - and only gets Elviz into more trouble when his new girlfriend Anna applies for a job with "Süperseks", unaware of who is behind the company.

It all starts with a bang. The car breaks through the crash barrier and falls off the bridge. The lights go out. After that, he is not able to see anymore. His optic nerve is severed, from now on the young stage-director Jakob is blind. His life will change and nothing will ever be the same. Jakob cannot handle the idea of never being able to see again and screams at the only woman who is able and willing to help him, Lily. A rehabilitation teacher, she helps the blind deal with the darkness. Lily has been living with it since birth, she too is blind.
