Every day, Jay travels the length and breadth of Tokyo in his taxi, looking for his daughter Lily. In the 9 years since he has separated from his wife, he has never been able to get custody of his daughter. Having given up hope of ever seeing her again, he is about to move back to France when Lily hops in his cab. But she doesn't recognize him.

Pelopidas and his wife, Pelagia, receive a visit from their fiery daughter, Dora, who announces that she is separating from her husband, Haris. Before they have time to recover from the shock, their other daughter, Yuli, bursts in and announces that she is also getting divorced. The reason for all this is the new fashion of mini skirts, as women demand the freedom to choose how they dress, but men do not accept the mini. The youngest daughter follows her sisters' example and breaks off her engagement, as does their voluptuous aunt, who also leaves her husband. Pelopidas, trying to reason with his daughters, also asks for a divorce from Pelagia, who leads him by the nose.

A film made for television, based on the book of the same name by Libera Carlier. A Flemish family decides to spend the summer holidays on de Schelde. Father Janssen buys a second-hand boat and together with his wife and two sons he sets sail. What follows is a sequence of pleasant moments and disappointments, watched by the sceptical mother Janssen.

Harvey Cheyne, Jr., second richest person in the world, orphaned and spoiled rotten, encounters a cigar and the sea on his way to England for boarding school. Seasick, over the rail for real, rescued by Dan Troop of a Gloucester fishing sailboat. Three months at sea, under a firm but fair Captain Troop (fair wages of $10.50 a month, if you don't work you don't eat). A hard life and a dangerous one, and a lot of growing up to do through hardship and tragedy.

Tulgaa returns to his native village to care for his dying stepfather, honouring his remaining commitments by offering to lend a hand with the summer harvest. But upon witnessing Tulgaa’s clumsy first attempts, Tuntuulei, a sassy 10-year-old boy, takes it upon himself to school the city slicker on the grassland ways. Despite getting off on the wrong foot, the two soon find common ground and form a delicate bond that will transform their lives.
