Overview
Recently divorced, Rose and Josh live on their own as unemployed scriptwriters. Hired and invited in a sumptuous villa by a mysterious producer, they will have to compete against each other in order to finish a scenario by adding the most kinky sex scenes and the most thrilling adventure they could imagine. The one who will win will earn a big check and a renewed notoriety, while the other won't win nothing else than a the memory of few days in that idyllic place. Rivalry, kink and low blows will lead the ex-lovers two to write the hottest fantasies to win this wicked game.

These three stories intertwine to explain how life in Jackson, Mississippi revolves around "the help"; yet they are always kept at a certain distance because of racial lines.

Following the lackluster launch of her debut novel, 35-year-old writer Kate Conklin receives an invitation from her former professor and old crush to speak at her alma mater. With her book tour canceled and her ego deflated, Kate decides to take the trip, wondering if it might give her the morale boost she sorely needs. Instead, she falls into a comical regression—from misadventures with eccentric twenty-year-olds, to feelings of jealousy toward her former professor’s new favorite student. Striking the balance between bittersweet and hilarious, Kate takes a journey through her past to reevaluate her future.

Alexandre Dumas, at the height of his career, takes Auguste Maquet, his chief literary collaborator or 'ghost writer' ten years his junior, to meet a young unknown admirer, Charlotte Desrives. The two men are at the summit of their artistic collaboration for they have just published "The Count of Monte Christo", "Queen Margot" and "The Three Musketeers". If it's Maquet who writes the majority of the texts, both the honours and fame go to Dumas.
