Overview
The day begins like many others in the Schwarz family's life: doctor Nora is preparing breakfast, one-year-old Jella is playing on her blanket, father Mickey is still in the bathroom. Suddenly shots are fired. - When Nora wakes up from her coma 10 days later, nothing is as it was before: Mickey has been fatally shot and there is no trace of Jella. Nora herself has been shot and has no memory of that fateful morning. Who did this to her family?

Nine fictitious documentaries and films reflect the mood of late 1970s Germany, particularly the two-month period in 1977 when a businessman was kidnapped by the RAF (Red Army Faction). The kidnap had been made to orchestrate the release of the original leaders of the RAF, aka the Baader-Meinhof.

A member of an elite paramilitary counter-terrorism unit becomes traumatized after witnessing the suicide bombing of a young girl and is forced to undergo retraining. However, unbeknownst to him, he becomes a key player in a dispute between rival police divisions, as he finds himself increasingly involved with the sister of the girl he saw die.
