In a small provincial town, the magician Viktor Mikhailovich Kukushkin performed in a student dormitory. His tricks were not very complicated and did not make a great impression on the audience. But this evening was the beginning of friendship between the magician and the students.

When housewife Frances Hannon is abducted and buried alive, detective Madeline Foster is brought in. With only 24 hours before Frances' oxygen runs out, Madeline pursues the trail laid by a killer calling himself Harry Houdini. A magician in a carnival--who actually can read minds and levitate people and objects--works with a superintelligent chimp named Alex, who can also talk. The magician and the chimp soon become the stars of the carnival, drawing in big crowds. However, the wild-animal trainer, who has been displaced by the team as the carnival's top act, decides to kidnap Alex and sell him to a medical laboratory for experimentation, thereby getting rid of his competition.

In an unknown first world airport the arrival of an ecuadorian flight is heard. The 'members of the European Union' passby migration, while the 'others', in the other line, wait. In the middle of the claims, a group of ecuadorians is arrested. They are taken to the Room, where they wait to be deported. Seems like everyone hides something, like PROMETEO the young magician with his hands tied like a delinquent who has a 'magical' trunk as luggage. Time passes, a way of being, Ecuador happens in this waiting room. Seems like there is no possible exit. Meanwhile, a different but well-known way of life takes place. The only thing left as a promising way out is illusion.

12-year-old Josh has a crippling disease in his leg and is cynical about the abilities of his doctor to assist him. After a visit from a Magician, he has a vivid dream in which he discovers that he doesn't need to be alone and that miracles are real. His faith in Jesus Christ is renewed and Josh wakes up with confidence that a miracle can save his leg.
