At 22, Damien is a far-right soldier : an activist for "Barrière Nationale", a fringe group fighting against the so-called "Great Replacement", he lives only for his homeland. On June 24th, as Paris swelters under a troubling heatwave, Damien guns down eleven people in a mosque. A teenage boy befriends a starlet who is having an affair with an ambitious mayor. As the elections are coming up, the mayor's wife wants him to get rid of his mistress. The starlet agrees to stop the affair on condition that the mayor help release her boyfriend from jail. The mayor does so, but wants the former jail-bird to kill his political rival.
An aspiring young politician named Willy Brandt wants to become German Chancellor, but the current Chancellor Konrad Adenauer wants to prevent this at all costs and by any means necessary. Adenauer has the secret service and old alliances with a Nazi past on his side and has Brandt's election campaign spied on and torpedoed by informants in the party executive. He pulls out all the tricks to outdo the charismatic Brandt. The Federal Chancellor does not stop at damaging his reputation and defaming him - all in order to maintain his power and defeat the supposed communist "enemy".

The daughter of a prominent medieval Norway landowner, Kristin grows up in total harmony with the ideals of the time: strong family ties, social pride and devout Christianity. As she accepts the fact that she has been arranged to marry the son of another landowner, Kristin's beauty, innocence and purity evokes violent emotions around her: envy, lust, murder, revenge. She seeks refuge in a convent, awaiting marriage. Here, the passion of her life strikes, the knight Erlend Nikulaussonn. However, their love cannot be private, and suddenly Kristin is the centre of a scandal.
