Overview
Three former school friends, all grown up in Wedding, the blue collar district of West Berlin, have not seen each other for a decade. They meet in their old teenage hide-out, a storage depot close to the East Berlin Wall in the summer of 1989.

Film version of the musical by the same name: Sunnie, a girl from the province, comes to Berlin to meet rock star Johnnie who had given her his address after a concert. On the subway to Kreuzberg, Sunnie becomes acquainted with a couple of strange people, among them "asphalt cowboy" Bambi. Bambi tells Sunnie that Johnnie’s address in Kreuzberg does not exist. Together, Sunnie and Bambi try to find the rock star in bustling metropolitan Berlin.

An African-American GI retires from the US Army in West Berlin to live with his white girlfriend, who already has a baby with another black man. After an argument with her family, she deserts him as well. Despite finding a job and a new place to live, he keeps running into racism, which also manifests itself in sexual intimidation.

A slingshot is loaded, the stone flies and crashes - the neighbor's window breaks. Ramona and Nico are friends, lazy bums and fresh out of school. But instead of thinking about their future, they prefer to let the hot Berlin summer get the better of them. When they release a beloved neighbor's bird, they have to flee - into the politically charged world that they really don't want to be in. A road trip through Berlin begins - but on foot.

Moritz follows a boyfriend to Berlin and is soon abandoned by him. Alone in the big city, he embarks on a journey through a wide range of queer experience. Only through a new circle of queer friends does he develop his own ideas of sexuality and masculinity, leading him to a clearer self-identity.
