Zuzana grew up and took her first blows from life. She got caught up in bad company, ended up in prison and after her release she tries to start again. A group of dancers congregate on the stage of a Broadway theatre to audition for a new musical production directed by Zach. Jerry Mulligan is an exuberant American expatriate in Paris trying to make a reputation as a painter.
