Overview
Talk show host Marc Morin is at a crossroads in his career and in his personal life. The ratings of his show are failing and he is losing touch with his family. In an effort to regain the love and respect of his audience, Marc’s agent decides to send him, against his will, on a humanitarian mission to Haiti. Nothing can prepare Marc for the journey on which he is about to embark.

The "jungle doctor" Albert Schweitzer tells the story of a philosopher and physician who promoted peace during the Cold War, built a hospital in what is now Gabon and proved stronger than the CIA.

A doctor embezzles the proceeds of his Parisian clinic in order to better support the manipulative woman with whom he is having an affair. After losing all the money while gambling, he is forced to flee to an undeveloped region of India. There, he tries to mitigate the onslaught of a disease the natives term "Amok," while his past mistakes still plague him.

An unemployed construction worker heading out west stops at a remote farm in the desert to get water when his car overheats. The farm is being worked by a group of East European Catholic nuns, headed by the strict mother superior, who believes the man has been sent by God to build a much needed church in the desert.

A group of kidnappers take the son of a wealthy presidential candidate in Haiti. Doc and Zoe are two amateur gangsters tasked with delivering the young man to their ruthless boss. With a hitman on their trail, Zoe accidentally kills the hostage. Panicked, Doc and Zoe come across Patrick and his very pregnant wife Laura. Patrick looks exactly like the senator’s dead son. Doc and Zoe decide to abduct the couple and replace the candidate's son with Patrick.

A successful German overseas merchant with a plantation in Haiti is looking for a suitable wife in Hamburg and comes across a barmaid from the Reeperbahn with an illegitimate child. He wants to marry her, but she does not follow him out of nobility. In search of her, he finds her in Mexico as the secretary of his former lover, a writer.
