Overview
Joan (Helen Twelvetrees) is a Canadian, adopted by Ma Dawson (Nellie Ferguson), a struggling horse breeder and trainer. Joan thinks "legs don't make a race horse, it's blood", and so she buys an unwanted thoroughbred colt called Stormalong. Helped by Ma's son Tommy Dawson (Frank Leighton), Joan restores the horse to health and fitness, and soon enough the horse is winning race after race, becoming a favourite for the Melbourne Cup.

Caroline, a professional horse driver, learns she has breast cancer. Avoiding dealing with it, she runs off to Switserland for a championship. Her husband, Julien, is a judge who has just given a young criminal, Pierre, leave for the day. On her way to Switserland, Caroline meets Pierre and brings him along as her horse groom. When Julien finds out about the cancer, he follows his wife to Switserland

A good-natured, but a useless man who loves horse racing and spends all of his family's precious money on it, and a young man who is his lover, who always forgives and accepts him. The love story of these two people is depicted in a gentle and emotional way, filmed on location in the Kansai region.

Looking for a flat to rent, Benoit is staying temporarily at a hotel. Having seen that flats are more easily rented to couples than singles, Benoit comes up with the plan to have Jeanne, his neighbour, act as his girlfriend. Through this role play, Benoit will fall under the charm of this young lady who is keen on horse betting, and will let himself be led into an amorous bet that will ruin him.
