Overview
After the death of his wife, successful author Seefeld has retreated to a lighthouse on the Irish coast. His nervous publisher is waiting in vain for a new bestseller and sends a spy: psychologist Carolin is to find out what Seefeld is up to. She disguises herself as an ornithologist - and the outcome is immediately clear to all connoisseurs of schmaltz.

A broken up couple, Guy and April, decide to spend one last night together in April's apartment before Guy leaves for a long trip out of the country. On this last night, they decide to re-create, re-enact, and re-imagine their first date together, acting like tonight is the first night they're meeting.

Ruth Ellis lives with her ten-year old son Andy next to a night club. One night she meets David Blakely, and they start a love affair. However, for David with his upper-class background, it is impossible to uphold the relationship. He breaks up with her, something which makes Ellis, obsessed by him, very upset.

The citizens of a small town find it difficult to depart from its center, which is to be demolished to build a new, a more functional one. The chairman of the municipality, the first citizen of this small town, supports the plan of female architect-designer, a pretty girl he fell for. But to make locals sure that he didn't approve the old center's demolition under her influence, the president begins to avoid the girl, who then marries another man. By carrying out the ritual wedding, the first citizen of a small town is left with his city all alone.

After 20 years of marriage, Ana Lúcia and her husband Fábio decide to get a divorce. Fábio, however, decides to move to an apartment across the street, in front of the window of his former apartment - where Lúcia still lives. Both will have to learn how to deal with job crisis, problems with their daughter and this whole new situation.

After her husband, Carl, suddenly leaves, Joline travels from New York to Texas to track him down. Although Joline tries to remain upbeat, she is discouraged when she discovers that Carl already has a new girlfriend, the lovely Carmen. Familiarizing herself with Carl's new home and friends, Joline gets company in the form of her brother, Jay. Will Joline win Carl back, or are there other romantic possibilities on her horizon?

Sara deals with her grief by trying to complete her late husband’s bucket list. Injuring herself on one of the tasks leads her to meet Dr. Ryan. A widower himself, Ryan begins to help Sara complete the bucket list. The two get close and Sara doesn’t want to betray her husband’s memory, so she stops seeing Ryan. However, Ryan doesn’t give up and helps Sara realize that everyone deserves a second chance at love

At the age of forty Dame Margot Fonteyn is considered to be past her best as a prima ballerina and Ninette de Valois is reducing her roles at the Royal Ballet. Then the exciting young Russian dancer Rudolf Nureyev, a recent defector to the West, comes into her life and her bed and revitalizes her career. Frederick Aashton creates a new ballet for them and they become the golden couple of the ballet world. However, Margot is married to Roberto 'Tito' Arias, a Panamanian politician of dubious repute who is not sympathetic to her calling and is probably faithless. When he is shot and paralyzed for life Margot must carry on dancing well into her sixties in order to pay for his costly treatment though she still collaborates with Rudolf in the occasional ballet.
