Overview

County Durham, England, 1984. The miners' strike has started and the police have started coming up from Bethnal Green, starting a class war with the lower classes suffering. Thief Gaston Monescu and pickpocket Lily are partners in crime and love. However, he takes things too far when he actually falls in love with Mariette, and has to choose between her and Lily.
