Both Ben and Roberta are shocked to discover that Frank not only had a child, but that he has left them responsible for his son's care.

Jess uses elaborate excuses to hide her matches from her family while also dealing with her romantic feelings for her coach, Joe.

Kate decides to adopt and asks David to be a father figure. David gawkily romances his coworker. Past and present intertwine to tell the story of a man learning to love and accept himself.
