Overview
An one-legged engineer of hydro construction, a war veteran meets a blind girl in a mountain sanatorium of Ophthalmology during winter. She's waiting for a surgery that will restore her eyesight. Soon the two fall in love with each other, but he feels unpleasant because of his handicap she's yet aware of.

After the release from prison, small-time criminal is marrying his girlfriend and lives a straight and poor, but happy life with her and her daughter. The Katakuri family has just opened their guest house in the mountains. Unfortunately their first guest commits suicide and in order to avoid trouble they decide to bury him in the backyard. Things get way more complicated when their second guest, a famous sumo wrestler, dies while having sex with his underage girlfriend and the grave behind the house starts to fill up more and more.

Austrian mountaineer Heinrich Harrer journeys to the Himalayas without his family to head an expedition in 1939. But when World War II breaks out, the arrogant Harrer falls into Allied forces' hands as a prisoner of war. He escapes with a fellow detainee and makes his way to Lhasa, Tibet, where he meets the 14-year-old Dalai Lama, whose friendship ultimately transforms his outlook on life.

Young blonde translator Rebecca lives with her boyfriend ski instructor Marco in a mountain villa owned by her friend, nurse Laura. Rene, local cinema projectionist, steals Marco's car and gets into a car crash with local Theo, whose daughter, after being in coma for a time, dies. Rene suffers from partial short term memory loss and starts a relationship with Laura. Meanwhile Marco is looking for the man who stole his car and Theo - for the man who killed his daughter...

The old Flender farmer wants to force his daughter Wally into a marriage of convenience with her childhood sweetheart, the wealthy farmer Josef Gruber. This is the only way to save the Flenders' heavily indebted farm. But the stubborn daughter resists the courtship of Josef, who has serious intentions. At the shooting festival, Wally and her suitor get into a bitter argument, during which the wealthy farmer insults the unruly girl as "Geierwally", referring to her tame, hand-reared golden eagle. Deeply disappointed by her father's intrigues and the wrath of her old love, Wally seeks refuge in a lonely mountain hut. But Josef does not give up so easily. He has his heart set on winning the heart of Geierwally after all.
