Overview
Adam is a young boy living with his family in dark catacombs below the ground. One day he discovers a new comer in their underground building and makes friends with him. When new comer suddenly vanishes without a trace, Adam starts to realize that things are not like they seem.

François, director of a primary school, teaches third graders. It's a demanding position, leaving him little time for his private life. But he is committed. At the beginning of the school year, his daughter has come to stay with him. Laura is 14 and has arrived from Tahiti with her mother for the first time after his separation, shaking up his calm existence. In the school courtyard, behind the playful games and laughter of the kids, their cries mask problems they struggle with on a day to day basis. Francois is more than a teacher, he's a friend and a protector.

After receiving word about a mysterious carcass/skeleton unearthed in the Arizona desert, a father and his daughter decide to remove it from the burial grounds for further study. Once they do so, they, as well as the town, are besieged by a colony of gargoyles living in some nearby caverns.

Stefanie Schröder is overjoyed when she can finally embrace her son Rainer again. The young man, who had converted to Islam at the time, had spent two years in an Islamic prison on suspicion of terrorism. But life in Germany is anything but easy for Rainer. The secret service won't let him out of their sight, he can't find a job and integration into society is difficult. Firmly convinced that Rainer has finally renounced the jihad, the holy war, Stefanie finally obtains the termination of Rainer's surveillance. But just as everything seems to be taking a turn for the better, Stefanie is cruelly forced to realize how wrong she has been about her son.
