In the West Jutland village of Hanning, there is a small indremissionary community. How everyday life unfolds in such a religious environment is depicted through participation in church services, meetings in the mission house and visits to the villagers. They talk about temptations, their relationship with God and passing on their faith to the next generation.

In a Danish village in the early 1600s, a young woman named Anne, whose mother was thought to be a witch, develops sympathy toward an old woman, Marte, who is accused of witchcraft. The intervention of Anne's older but kindly husband, Pastor Absalon saved her mother -- but now, urged on by his overbearing mother, he refuses to help Marte. When Absalon's son returns home and is attracted to Anne, it's a matter of time before her family destiny catches up with her.

In a Copenhagen motel, a politician's hookup doesn't go to plan. Meanwhile at a nightclub, a mother and son are connected via song. Whereas in the suburbs, a football team prepares for the big outing - of one of its players. In April 1940, the armies of Nazi Germany invaded Denmark. The Danish government promised peaceful cooperation on the condition that Denmark's Jews remained free. The Nazis agreed. In October 1943, the agreement was broken... This is the true and magnificent saga of Denmark's valorous actions to save Danish Jews from Nazi extermination at peril of death!

During the month of October 1943, the Danish resistance movement and just plain ordinary citizens joined together in staging a mass exodus by fishing boats to neutral Sweden of their Jewish countrymen, practically on the eve of the Nazi's planned round-up and delivery to concentration camps of all Jews. Story is told from the point of view of one Jewish family.
The cause of the traffic accident should not be sought at the time of the accident itself, but long before. The motorist who has been drinking a little. The cyclist who is busy and the motorcyclist who drives correctly but still falls victim to an accident due to the ruthlessness of others.
