Kundan is a medical student but just before getting the degree he got implicated in a murder charge and cannot finish his degree and takes the wrong path of crime. His neighbor and childhood friend Shanti who Kundan grew up with was married to Kundan at the behest of her mother but they got separated after Kundan took the path of crime. Eventually, Kundan took the job of a taxi driver and befriended a bunch of hoods, and continued with his criminal activities.
CBI Inspector Kumar arrives home late one night, and watches in shock as his wife, Ashoo, being very intimate with another male. Enraged, he takes out his revolver and aims to shoot and kill both of them, but does not do so. Instead he fires a warning shot, and asks both of them to leave immediately. He does not permit Ashoo to take their only son, Prakash, with her. Kumar spends all the rest of his free time bringing up Prakash, and hating his wife. Years later, Prakash has grown up, and is now employed with a business firm, whose owner is Mohan. Prakash meets with Mohan's beautiful sister, Kiran, and falls in love with her. Kiran too is attracted to Prakash. What Prakash does not know is that Mohan is a gangster, with many aliases, and he also does not know that Mohan is the same male his mother had been having an affair with when he was a child.

After being released from jail, Shyamu returns home to his village and his home to his mom, and blind sister, Radha. Shyamu and his mom try to get Radha married, but in vain, as no one wants to marry blind woman. Shyamu takes Radha for treatment to Dr. Ashok, who assures them that her vision can be restored, and the cost is around Rs.5000/-. Shyamu come up with the money, and soon Radha gets her eyesight back. One day, Shyamu rescues a beautiful young woman, Seema, from being raped by Gangu, takes her home, nurses her, and falls head-over-heels in love with her. He hopes to marry her. His mother is thrilled and plans the marriage of both Shyamu and Radha. But there is a hitch in the plans. Seema loves another man - a man to whom Shyamu is indebted to for life. Will this man permit Shyamu to marry Seema?

Kamli belongs to a poor family. She sells datuns for a living. She sells them in local suburban trains as well as on railway platforms. One day she meets a bachelor named Pratap, who would like her to become a lady, and be educated, to which she agrees. She thinks that Pratap is in love with her, little does she know that she is the subject of a bet between Pratap and his friend, Kashinath, who both find her crude, crass, loud, and uncouth, so much so that both doubt that she can be transformed into a lady.
