Overview
The burglars Sergej and Polde steal a valuable painting, Landscape No.2. By coincidence Sergej also takes a mysterious document dating back to the end of the World War II. Instructor is ordered to recover the stolen painting and the document, which triggers a diabolic mechanism of the past.

When Ex Colonel Merton discovers a burglar ransacking his home, he is shocked to find out that the thief is a former soldier from his tank regiment. When the thief escapes, Merton tries to contact former members of the regiment, in order to find out what set the thief on the road to crime.

Second-hand car sales man Willenbrock has everything that he could ever wish for. He is married, has two lovers, a cottage in the German city Grünen, and a BMW. Yet one day while at his cottage he gets mugged and his life is drastically changed. Little by little the world he once felt safe in falls apart around him.

Upon his release from a mental hospital following a nervous breakdown, the directionless Anthony joins his friend Dignan, who seems far less sane than the former. Dignan has hatched a harebrained scheme for an as-yet-unspecified crime spree that somehow involves his former boss, the (supposedly) legendary Mr. Henry.
The crook couple Peter and Gwen have run away from Germany and are dreaming of a sweet life on Mallorca. During a break-in at the villa of multimillionaire Walter Ekland, Peter discovers by chance that the old man is using a detective agency to find his son, who was given up for adoption years ago. Ekland has never seen his supposed last family member and heir and therefore does not know that he has long since died. Peter sees the great opportunity of a lifetime. He assumes the identity of the lost son in order to get his hands on the big money. But the unscrupulous Decker, a private detective who was tasked with finding Ekland's real son, discovers the fraud and blackmails Gwen and Peter...

Father Brown is only too happy to interfere with the work of the police in solving tricky criminal cases, usually with resounding success. At first, nothing happens there, but somehow Father Brown seems to be attracted to crime: Soon a gang of thieves is up to no good on the island. Burglar Nat Harbin and his two associates set their sights on wealthy spiritualist Sister Sarah, who has inherited a fortune -- including a renowned emerald necklace -- from a Philadelphia financier. Using Nat's female ward, Gladden, to pose as an admirer and case the mansion where the woman lives, they set up a perfect break-in. Things get complicated afterwards.
