On a fishing boat at sea, a 60-year old man has been raising a girl since she was a child. It is agreed that they will get married on her 17th birthday. They live a quiet and secluded life, renting the boat to day fishermen and practicing strange divination rites. Their life changes when a teenage student comes aboard.

In the midst of the war in Gaza, 5-year-old Hind Rajab and her family seek safety. To escape reality, they dance to loud music in the car. Their flight is abruptly stopped by an Israeli tank that opens fire without warning. Trapped in the car, surrounded by tanks, the girls try to hold on. They comfort each other and dream out loud about a future that seems increasingly distant. They keep in touch with the emergency services, who promise to rescue them as soon as the army gives permission. What began as a search for safety ends in a tragedy that exposes the core of the war.

Before the police station in Ober-Himmelbrunn is dissolved, the local landlord reports a burglary. The young gendarme Thaler is assigned to solve the case. Disguised as a holidaymaker, he goes to work. In the process, he conquers the hearts of twelve attractive girls who want to spend their holidays in an alpine hut.

When a casino-owning dog named Charlie is murdered by his rival Carface, he finds himself in Heaven. Wanting to get back at his killer, he cons his way back to the living with the warning that doing so damns him to Hell. Once back, he teams with his old partner, Itchy, to prep his retaliation. He stumbles upon an orphan girl who can talk to the animals, thus allowing him to get the inside info on the races to ensure his wins to finance his plans. However, all the while, he is still haunted by nightmares of what's waiting for him on the other side unless he can prove that he is worthy of Heaven again.
