Overview
A college economics professor's "radical" ideas about capitalism get him fired. When he decides to put those ideas into practice, he finds that they actually do generate him huge amounts of money. Soon a local banker and others who scoffed at his ideas see the amount of money he's making and try to cheat him out of his system.

To marry her fiance Dong Jifang, Wang Danlin and her father Zhuoran take the cruise home to Hong Kong. The daughter fails to see eye to eye with her father who covets after Dong's money for speculation. On the ship, she suffers intensive courtship from the Filipino Chinese Lin Yamang. Meanwhile, Dong is eager to match his old frame Bai Jin with the sailor Mai Qin, but Mai mistakes Danlin for Bai and falls in love with her, resulting in a morass of troubles. Finding out Dong's affair with Bai, Danlin calls off the wedding in anger. Dong responds by deciding to marry Jin. Their nuptials are saved with the timely intervention of Mai.

Johnny Case, a freethinking financier, has finally found the girl of his dreams — Julia Seton, the spoiled daughter of a socially prominent millionaire — and she's agreed to marry him. But when Johnny plans a holiday for the two to enjoy life while they are still young, his fiancée has other plans & that is for Johnny to work in her father's bank!

Successful movie director John L. Sullivan, convinced he won't be able to film his ambitious masterpiece until he has suffered, dons a hobo disguise and sets off on a journey, aiming to "know trouble" first-hand. When all he finds is a train ride back to Hollywood and a beautiful blonde companion, he redoubles his efforts, managing to land himself in more trouble than he bargained for when he loses his memory and ends up a prisoner on a chain gang.

Hollywood producer Alexander Meyerheimer has hired drunken writer Richard Benson to write his latest movie. Benson has been in Paris supposedly working on the script for months, but instead has spent the time living it up. Benson now has just two days to the deadline and thus hires a temporary secretary, Gabrielle Simpson, to help him finish on time.
