Since the release of their groundbreaking LP "The Calling" in 2003 the Hoods have travelled around Australia (and the world) performing to sell out crowds. On the 20th of November 2004 the Hoods returned home to perform to a huge audience at Adelaide's Thebarton Theatre, the result? "The Calling Live" DVD Cut from hundreds of hours of tape this DVD also contains rare footage, interviews and a unique insight into a group whose recent success is fascinating considering their humble beginnings and their independence from the mainstream music industry.

Sixty years later, and guided by Emilio Jona, aged 92, the last living member of that group of travellers, we recover the unpublished recordings and reconstruct the journey, today, across an emotional and political landscape, regaining historical memories through these songs, as relevant today as they were then.

Maximova dances the role of Maria, the young girl whose mysterious uncle Drosselmeyer gives her a wooden nutcracker (Vasiliev) for Christmas. When he comes to life, she rescues him from marauding mice and is taken to the Kingdom of Sweets.
