Overview
Mr. Lukas, a deaf traveling tailor in a small village, unintentionally receives a wrong delivery from one of his customers, Mrs. Siti. Wanting to return the item a piece of intimate clothing he is spotted by Mrs. Siti's neighbor, who misinterprets his intentions. What begins as a simple act of kindness quickly spirals into suspicion and public humiliation. As gossip spreads, Mr. Lukas becomes the target of harsh accusations, unable to defend himself against the villagers’ judgment due to his disability. In a world that claims to be understanding, he learns how easily silence can be mistaken for guilt.

It's 1990 and an Indonesian fishing boat abandons Iraqi and Cambodian refugees in a remote part of the Western Australia. However, Alice's stepfather soon finds out about the friendship Alice has struck up and punishes her brutally. This story of friendship and youth shows that everyone is human and deserves to be treated so, no matter their disability or weakness.
