Overview

The story of Chin, a self-made man who rose from nothing but a mat and a pillow to become a powerful tycoon. His life takes a tragic turn when his wife passes away, leaving him to raise their children alone. Mei, the devoted eldest daughter, sacrifices everything for her family. Kang, the second son, is consumed by gambling, while Yi, the youngest, is a mixed-race gay man of African descent. Though Kang and Yi bring endless trouble, Chin favors his sons over Mei. When illness strikes and Kang’s debts threaten to strip away the family’s fortune, only Mei and her son, Soi Tee, remain steadfast at his side. Just as their home is on the brink of being repossessed and hope seems lost, an unexpected event emerges—changing their lives forever.
