Overview
In the 1850's, a young boy and his family on their way West become stranded in the Rockies. With the help of a local mountain man, a Sioux medicine man, and a legendary bear known as "Walking Thunder," the boy learns to become a man, and his family's survival is secured.

Made famous by Werner Herzog's documentary GRIZZLY MAN, late bear enthusiast Timothy Treadwell spent several months each year living among the grizzlies in Alaska's Katmai National Park. This riveting documentary follows Treadwell on one of his last journeys into the wilderness. Recording the activities of the bears he encounters on his video camera, he comes face-to-face with a giant male and witnesses a brutal turf war between rival clans.
Papa Bear wants to spend his paycheck on something foolish, but the Cubs think he should purchase some interest-paying defense bonds. Disregarding their advice, he buys a mechanical robot to do all the housework. But robots have a high-maintenance cost, and this one has an attitude as it multiplies itself when Papa Bear tries to destroy it.
Junior is a participant in a nightclub dancing contest and is declared the winner. His prize is a pet monkey whom Junior names, "Bunkey", and takes home with him. Unfortunately, he isn't quite sure what his parents will think of their new "guest" and is determined to keep the simean hidden from them. Unfortunately, the ape makes all kinds of noise which cause Charlie and Bessie to think a prowler is loose in the house. After disguising the chimp as a baby, Charlie discovers the ape and exclaims, "Either that monkey goes or I go." The family waves good-bye to Charlie who leaves the house, suitcase packed!

The special, a follow-up to the previous installment The Land Without Feelings (from 1983), sees the return of the ten original Bears and the rarely-seen Cloud Keeper, as well as the villain Professor Coldheart. In addition, the special introduces Baby Hugs, Baby Tugs, Grams Bear, and Professor Coldheart's sidekick, Frostbite.
