But when Jennifer's modern attitude disrupts Pleasantville's peaceful but boring routine, she literally brings color into its life.

During a hot summer afternoon, a peculiar, wide-eyed 5th grader asks his teacher for advice about telling his crush how he feels. They discuss different tactics, and, ultimately, the boy sort of gains the courage to overcome his fears... sort of. He also inspires the teacher to maybe ask out his own crush... sort of.
