Howard is mild-mannered and slightly simple-minded, with a habit of picking up teenage hitchhikers while driving his delivery routes. Sometimes the girls admit to being runaways, and if they claim to hate their mothers it drives Howard into a violent frenzy; his sister ran away from home years ago and was never heard from again, causing his desperate, addled mother to tighten her hold on him. Howard never remembers raping his victims or strangling them with wire coat hangers, though his boss does notice missed deliveries and late arrivals.

Maria, an unfortunate young woman, kills her rapist father in self-defense, and is later tried, sentenced, and shipped off to a woman's penitentiary where she and her fellow inmates are subjected to psychological and sexual abuse at the hands of a psychotic lesbian warden.

He discovers that he is being set up on multiple levels and will soon face a longer sentence if he doesn't prove the truth.

This is just one outlet in Dr. Edward Caspari's growing high-class prostitution network, and, when the police are just a witness away from taking the whole thing down, girls start disappearing suspiciously. Further complicating matters, one of the working girls is married to a police officer and becomes Dr. Caspari's girlfriend -- whoops!

The sting is a success, but the double-crossing starts almost immediately. Sabu discovers how little of the take they were promised and hides the stash. Jiro and his slimy partner pressure the kids to fess up. Meanwhile, their respectable elder brother Ichiro is being leaned on by the town's big boss, whose money it was.

A group of high-school friends must come to terms with the fact that one of them, Samson, killed another, Jamie. Faced with the brutality of death, each must decide whether to turn their friend in to the police, or to help him escape the consequences of his dreadful deed.

Reminiscent of the later BLOODSUCKING FREAKS, the women have all been driven mad by their enforced captivity, making them no better than their dear, departed master in the end.
