A group of professionals attend a job interview for a very lucrative position within one of the largest multinational companies in the world. A coming-of-age story about two boys, one Dominican and one Haitian, accidentally meeting and becoming the friends they never knew they could have, at least not this way. After a young Haitian boy, Ducan, crosses a border river into the Dominican Republic to retrieve his father's hard-earned money from a farm, he bumps into a very timid boy named Elias. Even though hostile at first, Elias grows to understand the boy's circumstances and agrees to show Ducan the way. After encountering numerous risks, such as hometown bullies and even guards, they develop a sense of care and look out for one another. Once the sun sets and they've retrieved their money, they say their farewells. They know that this goodbye will not be forever. It only takes one person and a day for your whole life to change forever.

A story about a simple man from the mountains, Guaguasi, who falls in love with a beautiful chorus girl, Marina, during the Cuban Revolution. Guaguasi joins the rebels and arrives in Havana at the end of Batista's dictatorship, and, in the midst of political turmoil, is swept off his feet by the mesmerising Marina. The story celebrates the vitality and lunacy of the Revolution period with surrealism, humor and sensuality and is a compassionate metaphor about the human condition.
