A horror film about a screenwriter who loses the ability to distinguish between his fantasy world and the real world, with disastrous consequences. As he ruminates on his place in any world and loses his grip, he also loses his wife and his children's respect, and critics tear him apart. Gabe has a burning fire in him to make his mark on Hollywood with his crime spree movie, but no one wants to give him funding. After a chance encounter with a thief named Gideon, Gabe decides to shoot his movie guerilla-style, robbing convenience stores, filming the whole thing. There's just one little problem; Gideon has been keeping the money (hey, old habits die hard). Now the filmmakers are wanted felons, with the police hot on their trail.

Stumbling across an uncompleted 1939 film called "Princess Marushka", filmmaker Sam becomes intrigued with the young actor Sylvain Marceau, who last appeared in the film. Hoping to discover the mystery behind Sylvain's disappearance, Sam decides to make a documentary and sets off to interview those who knew Sylvain, including elderly Lisa Morain. Through her interview, Sam learns the story of Lisa and Sylvain's doomed love affair on the eve of World War II.

In this reenactment of a propaganda documentary, a woman is falling prey to the role assigned to her in slow motion. Upon her arrest, diplomat Mária Kerényi is interviewed by the state television. Her story in espionage confronts the mechanisms of autocracy and the concept of guilt in a closed society.
