Overview
Pila is a young woman who has repeatedly attempted suicide but has never succeeded. One day, after enduring horrific trauma—including physical abuse and sexual assault—she attempts to end her life once more and loses consciousness. Upon waking, Pila discovers she is still alive, but trapped inside the world of "Undermind." In this realm, she confronts various manifestations of herself, her deepest fears, the memories she has been running from, and the tragic truths of her reality. Pila must find a way to escape from the world of Undermind to break free from and put an end to the agonizing pain that has been consuming her.

A pious 20-year-old juvenile delinquent is sent to work at a sawmill in a small town; on arrival, he dresses up as a priest and accidentally takes over the local parish. The arrival of this young, charismatic preacher is an opportunity for the local community to begin the healing process after a tragedy that happened a year prior.

After surviving an accident, Alif, a micro-painting artist, is told by his doctor that his memory hasn’t fully recovered. When a woman claiming to be his mother comes to visit, Alif begins to sense something is wrong—he doesn’t recognize her face, and he suspects she might not be his mother.

Nick Hart is a struggling American artist who lives amongst the expatriate community in 1920s Paris. He spends most of his time drinking and socializing in local café's and pestering gallery owner Libby Valentin to sell his paintings. He becomes involved in a plot by wealthy art patroness Nathalie de Ville to forge three paintings. This leads to several run-ins with American rubber magnate Bertram Stone, who happens to be married to Hart's ex-wife Rachel.

The film tells the story of two blind men who stand on the side of a road between oil wells and beg, and the conflict between them. The young blind man, who was born blind, sees the old blind man, who later lost his sight, as his rival. Each blind man represents a large crowd in himself.

Breaking a mirror initiates five different acts in five different places; exposing shades of magic, politics, and systemic violence. The harm social systems are designed to inflict, the enforced disappearances in Turkey during the 1990s, the border politics of the EU, manipulative storytelling, and power struggles are evoked as the round Pendant attempts to become whole again with its gemstones scattered throughout the acts.
