Overview
William Benton, a rich British landowner and cattle baron was murdered, creating one of the most bizarre and sensational international scandals in history. Thomas Canning, an inexperienced photo journalist from London, is sent to Mexico seeking fame and glory but eventually he reaches the camp of Pancho Villa to be told several conflicting versions of Benton's murder.

The assassination of Pancho Villa, on the outskirts of Parral, Chihuahua, plunged the city into mourning, and a wake for the revolutionary hero was held by his closest collaborators. Conspicuous among the mourners were the four women with whom Villa was having intimate relationships at the time of his death. Now that Villa is no longer around to mediate and keep them apart, tensions between the women grow and intensify, with unexpected consequences. Maria San Carlos, the only daughter of a wealthy landowner, is betrothed to Escobar, a General in the Mexican Revolution, but she does not love him. Escobar sends a mixed gang of Americans and Mexicans to capture her and bring her to him. Complications ensue when an American cowboy, who had been hitching a ride with Maria's entourage and has his gold stolen by the gang, pursues them across the desert.

During the Mexican Revolution, the people tired of living in poverty and enduring the atrocities committed by the federals, decide to follow one of their own, General Demetrio Macias, a thief with tricks he learned in jail and who along with "La Pintada" decides to take his people to victory. Led by Captain Anastacio Montañez, the newly formed army fight and honor their code at the same time as they loot houses to spread the wealth.

Iran, January 16th, 1979. Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi flees after being overthrown. Ayatollah Khomeini returns to Tehran and proclaims the Islamic Republic on April 1st, 1979. In the same year, Saddam Hussein seizes power in Iraq and, after several border skirmishes, attacks Iran on September 22nd, 1980, initiating a cruel war that will last eight years. Since its outbreak, correspondent Saeid Sadeghi documented it from its beginning to its bitter end.

A group of men parachute into Japanese-occupied Burma with a dangerous and important mission: to locate and blow up a radar station. They accomplish this well enough, but when they try to rendezvous at an old air-strip to be taken back to their base, they find Japanese waiting for them, and they must make a long, difficult walk back through enemy-occupied jungle.
