With both cops and criminals in pursuit, the murderer soon realizes that people are on his trail, sending him into a tense, panicked attempt to escape justice.

Toronto, 1989. Five years ago Leslie and Reuben were inseparable best friends - until a toxic party lifestyle tore their friendship apart. Now, when their city is overrun by a deadly new drug epidemic and Reuben's kid brother is kidnapped, that same lifestyle is their only shot at staying alive.

A murder takes place in a suburban high school. A mentally defective detective Delgado Rodriguez and his partner, the German ex-soldier-veteran Stilenacht, begin a wide-ranging investigation. The comically hapless duo go undercover, roaming the halls among the students, looking for clues. They have no idea what they're getting themselves into. Nothing is certain in this case. The film is full of pop-culture references and allusions, relentlessly peppered with corny puns that sometimes become an integral part of the plot and story. The film takes a similar approach to the mixing of genres; the crime film premise crosses into the realms of fantasy and horror in the course of a plot that is often self-contradictory.

Les Dalton is on parole after nine years in prison for armed robbery, and now everyone wants to know what happened to the missing gold. Whilst Dalton tries to build a new life in a world he wants no part of it, plans are afoot to force him to tell the truth -- a move which will ultimately cost someone their life.
