Overview
In 1940, in France, Jean Chevalin lives with his family in great poverty after deserting the army. Convinced that some people manage better than others, he decides to pretend to be Jewish in order to receive help from smugglers and reach the free zone. This ruse will lead his family on a journey that will gradually dismantle his prejudices.

This film originated as a play in Paris. The story focuses on the one-day adventures of Bertrand Barnier played with a genius of French cinema, Louis de Funes. In the same morning he learns that his daughter is pregnant, an employee stole a large amount of money from his company, his maid is about to resign in order to marry a wealthy neighbor and his body builder is interested in marrying his daughter. The seemingly complicated story-line is full of comedy or errors and some of the most hilarious mime scenes of the French cinema.

Perry Ashwell is a self-satisfied child psychologist who takes his colleagues and wife somewhat for granted. So confident is he of his position that he introduces rich attractive painter Octavio Quaglini to his office and home. Quaglini is no respecter of convention, and April Ashwell is extremely attractive.

Businessman Telis Birkas (Periklis Hristoforidis) decides to marry his daughter Antzela (Sasa Kastoura) with a nice guy, his accountant Dinos (Dinos Iliopoulos). Antzela though does not want to hear a word about it. Telis, decides to train Dinos in order for him to win his daughter's heart. Training does not go so well and so the call in the big guns.

Uuno moves in flight cargo to Helsinki for the search of a rich, beautiful wife. He buys elegant clothes for eight marks from an estate auction and in two weeks becomes the most pursued bachelor in town, charming all the women. He also starts as a waiter in Vaaleanpunainen sika (Pink Pig), which starts the first quarrels between him and his father-in-law.

A simple typewriter is familiar with a garage-facing young man, who is recommended to be a big business man. The same is done by her, presenting the daughter of his boss industrialist. In the end, however, all is corrected, misunderstandings are overlooked and the poor typist marries the poor garage.
