Seven activists from Hong Kong joint the global fight against the G8 Summit in Hokkaido Japan 2008. Given the fact that global warming, labor and energy issues were discussed and covered by mainstream media, they tried to get their voice heard to the leaders at the Windsor Hotel in Toyako (The Toya Lake), but they experienced hospitality of Japanese police brutality from the city rallies to the protest in the mountains.

A documentary about the police tactics during the G-8 summit in Genoa in 2002 which lead to the death of one person and left many people wounded.

The video is composed of 13 episodes that tell some moments of the days of Genoa. From the climate of the Red Zone to the police charges on the procession of 21 July, to the situation around the body of Carlo Giuliani in Piazza Alimonda. The shooting is a selection of images shot by Giacomo Verde and other independent video makers connected to different groups. The video’s intention is to tell what the media fail to show because they are trapped in the rules of communication-show and scoop. So many episodes are commented by texts of "militant poetry" in order to provide reflective ideas that go beyond the contingency of facts, and others use images "effected" (rallenty, velocity etc.) and an original sound commentary in order to go beyond the documentary data still present. A video that wants to be an instrument of emotional and political reflection, for the various components of the anti-g8 movement, on the different issues raised by the days of Genoa.

What happened in Genoa (Italy) between the 16th and the 21th of July 2001 during the G8 meeting. From the pacifist movement against the G8 economic system to its catastrophic repression by the Italian police.

Produced by the Genoa Legal Forum Secretariat, the video presents a reconstruction of the events of Friday, July 20, 2001, based on documents acquired during the trial of 25 protesters accused of devastation and looting.

This Traveltalk series short begins aboard the RMS Scythia as it exits Halifax Harbor. The Scythia is a cruise ship that was converted to a troop transport during World War II; in 1940 it carried children from Liverpool to New York as part of an evacuation program set up by the Children's Overseas Reception Board. The present voyage is among the first to carry civilian passengers from North America to the British Isles following the end of the war. Among the passengers are 150 child evacuees, who have spent several years growing up in Canada or the USA.
