Rosa is a mature police officer with both a gambling and a drinking problem. She lives with her daughter Sheila, who has a little baby. One day, after a big fight between them, Sheila steals her mother's savings and storms out of the house leaving her baby behind. Rosa is forced to spend some time with her grandson. Alex has a deeply troubled mind. He also has a seriously dysfunctional - not to say incestuous - family. Why then, has he returned from his merchant seaman job to the rocky coasts of his home? With plot only provided as subtext, the simple story is a dramatization of a man and his resolve to live a quite honest life farming. Mahoney’s Last Stand has only appeared on Canadian TV and in particular remains neglected, forgotten even, with no release even on VHS.

Anu sees Heloisa regularly in her practice, who, whenever falls in love, begins to suffer from cruel and tormenting obsessions towards her beloved. Heloisa's twisted psyche fascinates Anu in ways she does not fully understand - professionally and personally. But one day, Heloisa abruptly stops therapy. A midsummer party with a couple of friends is interrupted when Anu's son Antti arrives with his new girlfriend - who is Heloisa. Anu is forced to confront her own limitations and the painful memories of Heloisa's therapy relationship, which reveal an obsessive bond between them that threatens to destroy everything.

After a long stint in gay conversion therapy, James, a young piano prodigy, returns home to his family farm and his emotionally-distant father, Richard. After Richard pressures James to give up his music career and take over the farm, James agrees as a way to make up for his past. Soon, however, James finds himself face-to-face with a former lover, Charlie, who wants to help him turn away from his new beliefs and family expectations and follow his dreams of studying music.
