Overview
Sam is a painter who returns to Dallas for a show of his recent paintings. While there he picks the scabs off some old wounds: namely the fizzled relationship with his old girlfriend Molly who has subsequently become the hot singer/celeb on the Deep Ellum music scene and the fractured friendship with his former artist buddy George who also has a thing for Molly.

When Sarah lucks into a sweet one-bedroom at Asilo Del Mar Apartments in Los Angeles, she thinks she's hit the jackpot. After offering his services, Zed soon finds himself trapped in a situation beyond his control when heroin abuse, poor planning and a call-girl named Zoe all conspire to turn the robbery into a very bloody siege.

New York police detective John Shaft arrests Walter Wade Jr. for a racially motivated slaying. But the only eyewitness disappears, and Wade jumps bail for Switzerland. Two years later Wade returns to face trial, confident his money and influence will get him acquitted -- especially since he's paid a drug kingpin to kill the witness.
