Overview
After 11-year-old Petros loses his father in a car accident in Melbourne, Australia, his mother decides to move the family to her homeland, Greece. Petros has been planning to run away from home ever since the big move. After persuading his classmate, Adonis, to join him, the two boys decide to make the journey to Australia together. Their parents look for the children all over Greece to no avail. The only one who knows the boys' whereabouts is their best friend, whom nobody believes. Petros and Adonis' pictures are published all over the press, but no one comes forward with any information. Meanwhile, the boys continue on their journey...

Dimitris Thalassias is a single singing teacher at a senior high school in Athens and undertakes the care of a child abandoned by its mother at the door of the foundling hospital. He does everything required to raise it right, but he sees his life changing unexpectedly, since his fiancée leaves him, and his relations with his students go from bad to worse. While this is happening, the mother shows up to claim her child. In the end, everything is corrected, and a solution is provided through marriage.

Reporter Judith Wilkes leaves her husband and two sons in Sydney and goes to Malaysia to cover the story of the Vietnamese boat people. She becomes romantically involved with Kanan, and strikes up a friendship with Lady Minou Hobday, who keeps a regular vigil at "Turtle Beach" where the refugees try to secretly land, in the hope that one day her own children will arrive. Accompanying Minou one night, Judith witnesses a brutal massacre by the Malaysians, which spurs her on to expose the horrors of the internment camps at Bidong.
