Overview
Tod Walker takes Rex Carson's map to a gold mine and leaves him in the desert. Carson recuperates at Jean Walker's ranch and she takes a liking to him. But when her uncle Tod arrives, he claims Carson tried to jump his claim. She sides with her uncle and Carson, banished from the Walker ranch, sets out to get his claim back.

A young man is sentenced to prison for a term of eight years, yet he's allowed out if he promises not to get married for those eight years, lest he be forced to complete his sentence behind bars. He goes to live on an old ship in the harbor with an old sea captain. One day a homeless girl is fished out of the water and brought to live on the boat, soon marrying the young man. All is well until his parole officer finds out.

The film follows Lya, a woman seeking refuge from Cossack soldiers, who finds herself at the palace of Prince Nicholas. She becomes his majordomo and they fall in love, but their relationship is disrupted when Nicholas learns of her past with a Bolshevik leader. Lya is expelled, becomes a terrorist, and later encounters Nicholas again, now disguised as a servant. When Nicholas is sentenced to death, she rescues him and they escape together.

Joyce (Jacqueline Logan), a beautiful and efficient secretary, does her best to take in hand and reform shiftless stock clerk Jimmy (William Colllier, Jr.), with whom she is in love. Despite her tireless efforts, he continues on his downward path. They separate, only to meet a couple of years later, at which point he vows to make himself worthy of her.
