Overview
The son of the King of Saxony is very interested in women, but his father wants a good match for him and therefore has all other loves killed. So also the parents' house of the beautiful Kunigunde is torched, but she can escape with the help of a squire, who can then temporarily bring her to safety in the care of the vegetarian bear Beppo. But when a weapons dealer tries out his new crossbow on Beppo of all people, Kunigunde has to seek new protection...

The idea for the film was proposed to the monks in 1984, but the Carthusians said they wanted time to think about it. The Carthusians finally contacted Gröning 16 years later to say they were now willing to permit Gröning to shoot the movie, if he was still interested.

In a Buddhist temple, young monks begin their meditation when the master arrives. One of the children is distracted by a sparrow and follows the bird outside the monastery. Here begins a walk off the beaten paths that goes to the tour of his lifetime. When he has become an old monk, he returns back to the temple where young monks are waiting for him. One of them is distracted by a sparrow…

In the heat of summer, Fabrizio is desperate to find the right time and place to make out with Nadia, his longtime girlfriend. With frustration building because his best laid plans are constantly getting interrupted, he comes up with a novel solution — but it will take more than just one teen boy to make it happen.
